The History Museum at the Castle featured in Archives Month blog
The Appleton Papermakers Scrapbooks-History Museum at the Castle featured in the Archives Month blog. These wooden-bound scrapbooks commemorate the first two seasons of Minor League Baseball in Appleton. Compiled in 1940 and 1941 by George Oudenhoven, the Papermakers’ vice-president, they contain photos of players both in uniform and at leisure.

Wisconsin Veterans Museum featured in Archives Month blog
Today Monday, October 19, the Helen C. Bulovsky Papers and Photographs, 1914-2001-Wisconsin Veterans Museum Research Center is being feature in the Archives Month blog. Some of the scrapbooks at the Research Center give a glimpse in to the lives of these men and women before they entered service. Helen Bulovsky was a Madison native who served in the Army Nurse Corps during World War I and provided medical care to injured soldiers in field and evacuation hospitals that were often very near the front lines. Her letters home and diary entries describe the horrendous conditions she faced and the intense nature of life near the front lines.

Lodi Woman's Club featured in Archives Month blog
Today Friday, October 16, the Lodi Woman's Club Scrapbooks-Lodi Public Library is being featured in the Archives Month blog. The Lodi Public Library houses a collection of scrapbooks of the Lodi Woman’s Club. The Woman’s Club collected many scrapbooks until the early 1990s. During the library’s remodeling in 1990, volunteers assisted in moving the scrapbooks--person to person--from the old building to the new. There are also scrapbooks showing Summer Library Programs starting in 1961.

Richland County scrapbooks featured in Archives Month blog
Today Friday, October 9, the Norman Family and Miscellaneous Greeting Cards Scrapbooks-Richland County are being featured in the Archives Month blog. The Norman Family Scrapbook was a gift by Elmer to his mother Mrs. James Norman on December 1903 and includes clippings about marriages and obituaries for many early Richland County pioneers. And the Greeting Cards scrapbook includes advertising cards, religious cards, programs, merit cards and valentines.

Vernon County scrapbooks featured in Archives Month blog
Today Thursday, October 8, the Vernon County Scrapbooks-Vernon County Museum is being featured in the Wisconsin Archives Month blog. The scrapbooks are a valuable resource for the Vernon County Museum and were donated to the museum by many different donors. The scrapbooks date from 1856 to the present and hold thousands of obituaries, marriages, family histories and other area history clippings collected from various area newspapers and magazines.
